Adoption Fees
In order to continue our mission at Adirondack Save A Stray, we take a donation at the time you adopt your pet. It is a tax-deductible, non-refundable donation -- You are not Buying the pet, you are adopting, and saving a life! We receive no federal, state or local funding and depend on donations to keep our doors open.
The adoption fee ranges between $195-$395 for puppies, which includes money towards the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots, de-worming, your first month of flea control, toys, training leash and some other puppy gifts as well. You must be over 21 to adopt. Do you rent or own your own home? If you own great! If not, please bring a letter from your landlord or a copy of your lease stating that you can have a dog, and a number to verify that once you are here. Will it be an inside dog? Do you have any other pets at home? If so, are they spayed /neutered? If not do you believe in spaying/neutering?
All our kittens have a $125 adoption fee. This fee includes vet check, first shots, worming, flea/tick medication, and more. Our adult cats have an adoption fee starting at $125. Our male cats have been neutered and female cats are already spayed. They are up to date on rabies and distemper vaccinations, have been Felv tested, and received a flea treatment and dewormer, which is also included in that adoption fee. We also offer micro-chipping (when age appropriate) for an additional fee.
The application can be found on our Website. Feel free to call us to schedule an appointment to meet your new best friend in their foster home!!
